Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced and motivated Physical Therapists for a full-time opportunity with school districts in the Bessemer, Alabama area. This is an exciting chance to work within a collaborative educational environment, helping students reach their physical and academic potential. Contract renewal for the following school year is based on performance.


Position Overview:

  • Title: Physical Therapist (School-Based)

  • Location: Bessemer, AL

  • Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite

  • Start Date: 2025-2026 School Year

  • Contract Renewal: Based on performance


    Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine students’ motor and mobility needs

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support access to educational programming

  • Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services in various school settings

  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student goals and mobility adaptations

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines

  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on physical development and service recommendations


    Qualifications & Requirements:

    All applicants must meet Alabama state and local requirements for school-based Physical Therapists, including:

  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution

  • Current and valid Alabama Physical Therapy License issued by the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy

  • Compliance with Alabama Department of Education guidelines for school-based service providers

  • Experience working in pediatric or school-based settings is highly preferred

  • Ability to pass background checks and meet all district onboarding requirements
