Job Opportunity: School-Based Physical Therapist (PT)

School Year: 2024-2025

Location: Near Berwyn, IL

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Physical Therapist (PT) to join our school district near Berwyn, IL for the 2024-2025 school year. This position offers the opportunity to work with students to promote optimal physical functioning and educational access.

Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' physical therapy needs and develop appropriate goals.

Provide direct physical therapy services to students, focusing on improving mobility, strength, posture, and overall functional abilities.

Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to support educational goals.

Provide consultation and training to school staff and parents on physical therapy strategies and interventions.

Qualifications:

Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Illinois, or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.

Knowledge of developmental disabilities and their impact on physical functioning.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
