Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team in a school-based setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and other educational staff to provide therapeutic services that support students' physical development and help them overcome mobility and motor skill challenges. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives, ensuring they can fully participate in their educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess and evaluate students' physical abilities and motor skills through comprehensive testing.

Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to students' needs, focusing on improving mobility, coordination, and overall physical function.

Provide direct therapy services to students with physical disabilities, ensuring alignment with their IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.

Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to create supportive environments for students, recommending accommodations and modifications as needed.

Educate school staff and families on physical therapy techniques and strategies that can be implemented in the classroom and at home.

Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Participate in IEP meetings and provide input regarding students' physical therapy needs and progress.

Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports in compliance with school policies and state regulations.

Ensure all services are provided in accordance with ethical standards and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.

Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.

Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of child development, specifically motor development and physical disabilities.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to manage a diverse caseload and provide services to students of varying ages and abilities.
