Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting students across K-12 grades as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). This is a full-time, contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year in the Sterling Heights, MI area. With a manageable caseload of 30-35 students, you'll work 37.5 hours per week making a genuine difference for children of all ages and abilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license for the state of Michigan (PTA MI license) is required
  • Previous experience working in schools preferred, particularly with K-12th grade populations
  • Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and how to support student-specific therapy goals
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, families, and other clinicians
  • Adaptability, reliability, and a student-centered approach
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct physical therapy interventions for students as outlined in their IEPs
  • Support the supervising Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans
  • Track and document student progress, preparing accurate records and reports
  • Assist with screenings and evaluations as needed to help determine eligibility and therapy needs
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure integrated student support
  • Participate in team meetings, sharing insights and recommendations
