Schedule/Hours:

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and treat patients in both hospital and village-based settings using a wide range of therapeutic equipment and modalities
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans rooted in best practices
  • Collaborate with peers, medical staff, and administrative personnel to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Accurately compose and maintain patient documentation and medical correspondence
  • Provide culturally sensitive care, adapting communication for patients who may not speak English
  • Stay current with physical therapy research and integrate findings into therapeutic interventions
  • Operate basic MS Office programs, manage electronic records, and utilize internet resources for continued learning
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active Alaska license as a Physical Therapist or FSBPT paperwork completed (for new graduates preparing for licensure)
  • Hospital-based experience valued but not required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities
  • Comfortable independently planning care in environments with variable resources—village outreach may require bringing equipment to remote locations
