Position Overview

The Physical Therapist will provide therapeutic services to students in both special education and general education environments, serving children and young adults ranging from 5 years old through age 21. The PT will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans that support students' mobility, functional independence, educational participation, and overall success in the school setting.

  • Additional responsibilities:

  • Provide therapy services to one homebound student
  • Candidate must be comfortable and willing to provide services within the student's home setting
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical therapy evaluations and assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapy goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with educational teams
  • Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and mobility supports as needed
  • Educate staff and families on student mobility, positioning, and functional skills
  • Support students' access to educational programs and school environments
  • Travel between assigned school locations and homebound services as required
  • Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Physical Therapist License
  • Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Previous pediatric, school-based, or special education experience preferred
  • Knowledge of IEP processes and educational therapy services preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities and needs
  • Reliable transportation for travel between locations
