School Based Remote Physical Therapist - Wyoming
Qualifications
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from a CAPTE-accredited program
• Active Wyoming Physical Therapist license issued by the Wyoming Board of Physical Therapy
• Successful completion of the Wyoming jurisprudence exam
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience (school-based and/or teletherapy preferred)
• Experience with IEP development, gross motor assessments, and virtual service delivery is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Comfortable using teletherapy platforms and technology
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Intervention
• Conduct virtual evaluations to assess gross motor skills, mobility, and physical communication/participation needs within the educational environment
• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans in a remote setting
• Provide direct teletherapy services, focusing on functional school-based goals, and track student progress
• Use data to guide therapy decisions and adjust physical interventions as needed
Collaboration & Support
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student safety, access, and success
• Provide guidance, modifications, and strategies for carryover in home and classroom settings
• Participate in virtual IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and IEP goals
• Ensure services meet Wyoming state, district, and federal guidelines
• Complete reports, educational evaluations, and billing documentation as required
Technology & Teletherapy Tools
• Utilize virtual platforms and digital tools to deliver engaging, movement-focused therapy sessions
• Adapt activities, visual resources, and methods for an effective online environment
• Troubleshoot basic tech issues and support families with platform use during remote sessions
Advocacy & Education
• Support students in accessing appropriate accommodations, assistive equipment, and adaptive technology
• Provide education and resources to families and school teams on pediatric physical development and positioning strategies
