Engage with a year-round outpatient program that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), ranging from age 12 to older adults. Most of your caseload will involve young adults, and the focus is on promoting quality of life, fostering independence, and building meaningful connections through therapy.

In this role, you’ll collaborate as part of a dynamic team, providing physical therapy for 15-20 hours weekly. Patients generally attend two sessions a week, offering consistency in scheduling and outcomes. Your skills within school or outpatient settings—particularly experience with I/DD—will be highly valued.

Key Qualifications:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) with relevant credentials
  • Strong background in outpatient or school-based therapy practice
  • Experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Familiarity with the Medicare/Medicaid system (documentation, procedures; script-writing not required)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport swiftly and effectively
  • Creative, flexible, and eager to adapt to diverse needs
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individualized physical therapy (or occupational therapy if qualified) sessions that empower patients to achieve their goals
  • Assess patient needs, develop therapeutic interventions, and monitor progress
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation in alignment with federal, state, and program-specific requirements
  • Communicate clearly with program directors and interdisciplinary team members
  • Adjust approach based on each patient’s unique personality, abilities, and goals
