Key Responsibilities
• Assist certified teachers with implementing instructional activities and classroom lessons.
• Provide individualized and small-group support to students.
• Support students with special needs through academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and physical assistance as outlined in student plans.
• Reinforce instructional concepts, learning objectives, and classroom expectations.
• Utilize positive behavior support strategies to encourage student engagement and success.
• Assist with classroom organization, preparation of instructional materials, and daily routines.
• Supervise students during transitions, lunch periods, recess, and school-related activities.
• Collect and document student data as directed by educational staff.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, administrators, and other support personnel.
• Assist students with personal care needs when required, in accordance with district guidelines and student support plans.

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate degree or completion of at least 60 college credits preferred
• Passing score on a paraprofessional assessment may be required for certain assignments or Title I programs
• Previous experience working with children, students, or in an educational setting preferred
• Ability to work effectively in diverse classroom environments

• Experience with special education, behavioral support, or classroom management is a plus

• Frequent interaction with students who may have physical, emotional, behavioral, or developmental challenges.
• Requires standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting or physical assistance of students as needed.
