Key Qualifications:

  • Active Physical Therapist (PT) license for North Carolina
  • Prior experience in school-based physical therapy, or a strong background in pediatric or educational settings
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff, students, and families
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Adaptability to work with both individual students and multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and best practices for supporting students with unique physical needs
  • Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct PT services to one 6th grade student at a single school site
  • Assess physical and functional abilities, developing and implementing tailored interventions
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate strategies within the classroom environment
  • Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with school/district guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing professional insight and recommendations
  • Adjust goals and service plans as needed based on changing student needs and periodic enrollment updates
  • Anticipate potential for additional hours as new students are identified throughout the school year
